DevXR Studio

From authoring tool to browser

Import a 3D model from your authoring tool or a DWG

Choose the shortest supported export path from Mixamo, Blender, Maya or a CAD drawing, then import one private GLB or FBX into DevXR Studio and verify it before publication.

Choose your workflow

Each guide covers preparation, conversion when required, upload and the checks to perform before sharing.

Mixamo

Mixamo FBX with animation

Export the character as FBX, convert it privately and inspect the animation clip.

Read the guide

Blender

Blender to GLB or FBX

Prefer GLB for the direct path or import an FBX source when your workflow needs it.

Read the guide

Maya

Maya to FBX

Keep the Maya project as the source of truth and export a clean FBX delivery copy.

DWG

DWG to FBX

Use Navisworks or 3ds Max because current AutoCAD no longer exports FBX directly.

DWG

DWG to GLB

Import the drawing into 3ds Max, prepare real-time meshes and export one binary glTF file.

Which file should you export?

DevXR accepts GLB and FBX. Your native authoring project remains outside Studio.

A reliable import starts before upload

  • Export a .glb or .fbx delivery copy below 100 MB.
  • Convert a DWG in your CAD or 3D tool first; DevXR does not receive the original drawing.
  • Keep native project files and production dependencies in your authoring tool.
  • Prefer a self-contained file and avoid missing external resources.
  • Verify scale, orientation, materials, textures and animations in Studio.
  • Publish only after processing and validation succeed. Models are private by default.

Questions about importing 3D models

Which formats can I import into DevXR Studio?

The current Studio import accepts GLB and FBX. GLB is the canonical browser format; an FBX is converted to GLB before validation and viewing.

Can I upload a Blender or Maya project directly?

No. .blend, .ma and .mb remain working files. Export a GLB or FBX delivery copy first.

Can I upload a DWG directly?

No. Convert the drawing to a reviewed GLB or FBX with a compatible CAD or 3D application, then import that delivery file.

Are imported models public immediately?

No. Models and source files are private by default. Sharing requires successful processing followed by explicit publication.

Will every material and animation transfer perfectly?

Not always. Authoring tools can use features that do not map directly to GLB or browser rendering. Review the processed model and adjust the source export when necessary.
